Frequently Asked Questions

How does the ADCOproto BOM tool work?

At ADCOproto, we prioritize speed and accuracy when delivering circuit board assemblies, and it all starts with your Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Real-Time Component Sourcing – Our system makes API calls to six major component distributors to instantly locate available parts at the lowest price.
  • Exact Match Accuracy – To ensure seamless ordering, our system searches for literal/exact matches to your BOM specifications.
  • Handling Inexact Matches – If an exact match isn’t found, our application will prompt you to make necessary adjustments and suggest possible alternatives.
  • Automated BOM Scrubbing & Costing – As you refine your BOM, our tool continuously searches for supply options, ensuring component availability and accurate costing in real time.
  • Fast-Track to Assembly & Delivery – Once your BOM is finalized, a few additional inputs will allow us to calculate assembly and board costs to efficiently move toward production.
Simply register on our site, and we’ll provide you with a fully optimized BOM to streamline your procurement and manufacturing process.

Yes! Our system allows up to 3 alternate manufacturer part numbers and 3 distributor part numbers per component. These alternates can be included in your Excel spreadsheet as either columns or rows. If a manufacturer is not listed, our system defaults to distributor-only sourcing, which may limit search results.

To ensure a smooth process, your BOM should:
  • Use clear column headers
  • Avoid extra or unnecessary lines
  • Include all required columns
If you don’t have any BOM ready yet, use our CSV or XLSX template or play with our sample BOM.

Important: For SMT connectors, manufacturer part numbers must specify Tape and Reel packaging (with pickup points).

We are on standby to help. Please contact customerservice@adcoproto.com with any questions.

Yes, the component cost of your quote must total at least $500.00. If your BOM falls below this threshold, our system will notify you. You can either proceed at the $500 minimum charge or adjust your order quantity to meet the requirement.
We offer 5, 10, or 15-day assembly timelines (business days) once all parts are received. Additionally, we require 7 business days to source and gather components before production begins.
Our facility is equipped with three modern high-speed surface mount assembly lines, capable of producing both leaded and unleaded assemblies.
  • Component placement down to 0201s and micro-BGAs

We maintain the highest industry standards. All PCBAs are manufactured in an ANSI ESD S20.20-compliant facility

  • Manufacturing is certified to IPC-A-610 Class II standards
  • Certified in-house IPC-A-610/J-STD trainers ensure process integrity
  • 40+ years of experience in electronic manufacturing services
We guarantee top-quality workmanship with final visual inspections and standard commercial packaging practices.
Since we specialize in quick-turn prototypes, we do not provide:
  • Design reviews
  • Special process/tooling development
  • Detailed reviews of notes or critical characteristics
